Artscaping
After 25 years working alongside artists and the organisations that support their work, it feels like a natural progression to start mentoring artists. Over the last year, I’ve loved developing six workshop modules and working closely with a wide range of artists in a mentoring capacity. My experience, married with an instinctive love for the creative mind, forms the heart and foundation of my mentoring journey.
Artscaping is a mentoring programme crafted for emerging and mid-career artists seeking clarity in their creative journey. The programme is built around four key pillars of commercial success, each focusing on the practical “nuts and bolts” of the art world.
Integral to your relationship with the wider arts community is your narrative and we dedicated a whole workshop to this vital element of artist’s communication. It’s one of my favourite sessions, most likely because I spent 20 years working in PR and Marketing!
Underpinning our pillars is a workshop dedicated to developing your artistic practice. Balancing time between creating in the studio and promoting your work can be challenging.
We’ve seen it so often – time in the studio gets disrupted by your sense that your Instagram account needs work. Our sixth module, Artist Practice, helps you develop a plan to manage this push and pull, so your creativity and your career can thrive together.
Soho Farmhouse, Oxfordshire
We’ve been running workshops at Soho Farmhouse for nearly a year, and I’m constantly reminded the importance of community. Being together in a creative space, offering support to one another and firing up a sense of what’s possible is a really exciting place to be. You can never predict the brilliance of the ideas that are born when a group of artists come together, but you can be sure there will be magic in room.
I started out in the art world 25 years ago with the goal to help creatives communicate their work to their audiences. My mission remains the same today. I’m proud of my artscaping workshops built on what I like to call my top three C’s — collaboration, community, and creativity.
